Summary

Amends the

Australian Protective Service Act 1987
to: confer additional powers on Australian Protective Service (APS) officers in relation to requests for personal identification and information, and search and seizure powers; and ensure that the powers for both the Australian Federal Police and the APS are consistent when operating in the same locations under the same circumstances.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
